Keep Your Religion Out Of My Science Fiction

Normally, I really couldn't care less about the political and religous viewpoints of the writers whose books I enjoy reading, but sometimes, we find ourselves discovering by accident things we really didn't want to know that leave a bad taste in our mouths.

I discovered unintentionally that Orson Scott Card is opposed to homosexuality and homosexual rights. Now, I own every Ender's Game book out there (unless a new one has been released that I haven't heard about), the Alvin Maker series, and at least one collection of miscelaneous short stories. To my utter disgust, since learning this factoid that I never really wanted to know, I have found evidence of this believe popping up all over.

Each time I read one it leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I wonder why I didn't notice it before.

Now, I'm not discouraging anti-anti-homosexuals to boycott his work. I still think he's an excellent writer and author. I'm just forwarning you that if he writes something that doesn't feel right, you're not alone.
