This Week In DC History, Vol 1

What is This Week In DC History
--

"The Dreamer's Disease is a Nasty One" - Sunday, April 3, 2011

Three years ago this week, I completed one of my favorite and best received pieces of short fiction. Well, best received by individuals, but when it comes to groups of people, I seem to still have trouble. It's easy to find a hundred or a thousand people who read my works, feel like one piece in particular (like this one) is something that has intimately affected their lives, but to find a conglomerate who feels that way, a team, a group, a publishing house, is still beyond me.

I don't know why this is. I can move people with my words; I can move individuals; but I can't budge groups.

The second part of this refers to why I write: it's not about numbers, but about touching people. Except it kind of is about numbers. It's about every little person being more than just a number, but also being a number.

I can't reach people who need to feel the effects of my words if I'm trapped in obscurity. It's not about being famous or popular--it's about being heard.
