TIMM Tag of the Week, Vol 5

What is TIMM Tag of The Week
Last Week's Tag
--

Tag: untitled

Sometimes, there just isn't anything that pops to me when I start or finish a piece, and that's generally when I decide on the title. It's either the first thing I put down or the last thing I put down; sometimes, admittedly, it falls in the middle, like a flash of inspiration amidst my running flash of inspiration (no, that's nothing like a dream within a dream). If nothing pops, I just write down the date and move on.

In galleries and communities where the system doesn't let you post more than one piece with any title (all titles must be unique), I will put the date as the title, but with blogger, that problem is non-existent.

Now, while my dream journal entries are all labeled with the date, I don't include them as title-less entries because they really aren't meant to be standalone pieces, but rather "chapters" in an ongoing journal.

Featured Pieces:
Untitled (May 26, 2013)
This piece is a short-fiction story around one person's tale of surviving an end-of-world scenario. No actual end-of-world scenario is actually described, which is one of my reasons for leaving it without a title: I didn't want to hint at any theory in particular, or suggest any certain event. This piece is also intended to read as a journal, and few journals (especially unfinished ones) are given titles. Maybe if I ever come back to it, that will change.

Untitled (April 30, 2013)
I think this piece is just too short: four lines of verse that are perfectly capable of speaking for themselves. No title is necessary.

Untitled Controversial Fiction (Mature)
This piece isn't technically untitled, I only included the "untitled" tag in it because, umm... actually, I'm not sure why. It just felt like it should have it. This is one of those strange pieces that few people aren't certain how they feel about it after they've read it, which is fine by me, because I wasn't sure how I felt about it after I finished writing it.
