I Have Painted My Fingernails - And Not Just Black

I know I'm a few days late on this, but it's only recently come to my attention. (It usually takes a few days to get all the sand out of my ears and eyes.)

I'm sure many people have seen and heard about the uproar on J. Crew's newsletter.

It's a mother spending time with her son, quality bonding no less. Being what, president?, you'd expect to see a nanny instead, perhaps, but no, it's a mother and her son, together, enjoying each other's company. So what if his toenails are pink?

This has nothing to do with gender-bending or transgenderism.

This is about a son growing up with a loving mother that he knows he can act silly with, and ask serious questions of when he gets older and not be judged by his innocence and curiosity. She is not encouraging anything except bonding with her child.

Besides, what's so wrong about having pink as a favorite color?
