Mid-Week Update: Changes

Just gonna have to be a different man
Time may change me
But I can't change time
 - "Changes" by David Bowie

Some things are changing around here, but don't take that to mean I'm going anywhere. DreamClassier will continue on, and unless you're playing real close attention, you might not even notice anything is different.

There's a new way to support DreamClassier, and that's through a wonderful service called Patreon. If you have heard of it, skip the next paragraph, but if you haven't, keep reading.

Patreon is like Kickstarter, but different. Where Kickstarter is intended to provide financial backing for projects from a lot of people, they are the same. Where Kickstarter is intended to raise start-up capital, they are different. Through Patreon, the audience member pledges a certain amount of money per content-post (instead of a lump sum), and that amount is donated to the creator whenever they make a new post (whether they make music videos, games, or blog entries).

So I have a Patreon account, and you can find it at (I hope that's easy to remember).

I've switched operating systems. This is an interesting one for me, because I've been born and raised on Windows, and now I'm running two Linux distros, Mint and Tails.

If you've read my Domestic Terrorism posts, and used some of the information to make yourself more secure, you may find some interest in Tails.

Both of these operating systems are running in secure mode, which means no saved history, no saved bookmarks, and very limited cookies; but I've mostly decided that if I can't remember the URL to a website, it's not important enough to me to be worth remembering.

I'm employed once again, so updates from the DC Facebook and twitter and Google+ accounts may be a little delayed. I'll do what I can to make sure they're posted in a timely manner, but since I prefer to personalize them instead of automate them, I can't guarantee they'll go up at the same time that the posts do.

No, sorry, I won't be telling you where I work, for job security reasons.

This is less of a change and more of a news item: If you didn't know, Google has started issuing vanity URLs for certain Plus accounts that meet their eligibility requirements. We got two, one for my personal account and one for DreamClassier. It should be so much easier now to share our G+ account with everyone you think is interested.

That new address (the old one with all the crazy long strings of numbers still works) is If you're not following us already, and you're on G+, I highly recommend that you do so.

I think that's it for now.
