This Week In DC History, Vol 10

"Domestic Terrorism," Sunday, June 9, 2013

It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since this post went live, and the furor grew up out of the background noise for a short while. Since then, we've had the amazing password leak come to light, and I can't help but wonder how safe everyone feels.

Please tell me: How safe do you feel? I really want to know.

Personally, I feel pretty safe, not from anything in particular or for any reason in particular, just for all the little (if you can call uniquing all my passwords little) things I've been doing to shore up the sandbags.

Let me be clear: these posts are not meant to frighten anyone (and if I do, I sincerely apologise), my only intent is to educate, make you aware of not just what problems exist, but also ways you can protect yourself against them. I'm no political or computer science expert, which is why I try to make sure you know how to find out more for yourself, to protect you, your family and friends, in ways that are most appropriate for our lives and lifestyles.

I don't want to be perceived as a fearmongerer or a fellow domestic terrorist. I just want to help open your eyes.
