...and if you'd like a show, you can follow the ashes.
I'm gonna burn this theatre down...

Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon’s mouth.

I'm not here for your entertainment.

I don't know why some people like to goad others. Maybe it's for the entertainment of the spectacle. Maybe it's to pride their own fortitude. They're like tailgaters on the road: neither going faster nor slower can dissuade them, and if there is a collision, then they can find not fault in their actions either.

I've mentioned stoicism previously, and gave no answer for my final ruling on it.

Here's my answer: Yes.

I'm not here for your entertainment. I'm here for my own salvation. Writing purges the noise in my head, brings peace back to the bubble that is my existence, and you're not worth the trouble of popping it and filling it up again.

It's a sturdy bubble, but flexible, and you can prod and poke and tailgate and I'm sick and tired of defining my happiness by what circumstances happen to me. Thanks may be owed to the world for thickening my skin, but I'm done dancing to any beat, any rhymes, but mine own.

And to those who have been welcomed into my life, don't feel threatened by this outpouring. The bubble isn't a wall. It's a porous structure that keeps the hateful and distrustful out and lets the light shine through. Nothing has changed in our shared experience, I'm just reacting differently to misfortune.

I'm more satisfied with myself now than I have been at all other points in the past when I have been called to have judgment upon myself, and this stoicism is only leading me down a path to a still better me.
