One of these quotes is not relevant to this post, but I'm leaving it anyway

What goes around comes around. And sometimes you get what's coming around. And sometimes you are what's coming around.
 - Father Anthony Forthill, Grave Peril by Jim Butcher

The building was on fire, and it wasn't my fault.
 - narrator, Blood Rites, by Jim Butcher

Someone's carrying a bullet for you right now, doesn't even know it. The trick is to die of old age before it finds you.
 - Malcolm Reynolds, "The Message" (S1E15), Firefly

It could be that your purpose in life is only to serve as a warning to others.

Life's not easy. If it were, everyone would do it. Instead, some folks decide to "opt out" for one reason or another. Unfortunately, it seems the leading cause for this is choice is other people.

I'm not perfect, and definitely not affiliated with any major religion, so don't take this as propaganda, but...

We really need to treat each other better.

I know some people are inherently jerks, and by all means, share to them what they bestow onto others; and I know some people don't care, and you don't get a choice on burning that bridge without hurting yourself at the same time.

But you can contain that blaze. Don't let your mind become a towering inferno that gets blamed on errant passing wizards. I think I've stretched this metaphor a little too far.

I'm well practiced at cutting ties. That's not something to be proud of. But sometimes, the ties that I cut aren't me burning the bridge; rather, I'm just trying to keep the fire from spreading to other bridges.
