Guess What Time It Is, B*tches!

One day our generation
Is gonna rule the population

- "Waiting on the World To Change" by John Mayer

We the nation of today
Our hopes will never fade
We'll be here when the heart stops beating

- "Wake Up" by Black Veil Brides

I'd love to tell you it's finally our time to shine, time for "our generation." But it's not. The generation that caused John such woe thirteen years ago (give or take a couple days) is still in power, still driving market and political forces. I might not have had a soapbox of my own to stand on back then, but I sure as hell do now (first post in 2009 and 700+ posts since).

We're still being victimized, still being brow-beaten and stolen from. The boomers are slowly retiring, and the "millennials" with enough brains in their head to step away from the blatant consumerism that drove our past economy aren't going to pay for your welfare checks. We have our own futures to worry about, dammit, and you're making too much of a mess of things for us to hope for much more than a scorched earth.

If you think I'm blowing things out of proportion, try doing a search on news articles for "millennials" and count how many assign blame. Most of them is the answer.

Hell yeah I'm pissed. And I have every right to be.

The "kids" who were just barely voting age and listening to WWTC sing their woes to them while creating graffiti art around his town? Yeah, we're "coming of age" to be elected politicians, and y'all old fogeys we're taking over from seem neither too happy to see us make necessary changes, nor too willing to let go.

Well, ol' boys, you're gonna have to let go sometime. Don't make us pry it out of your cold dead hands, and don't say I didn't warn you.
